About New Places of San Marcos
This project is part of my investigative reporting multimedia final in my Online Media Design course site. I’ve always been very interested in business journalism, and decided to take that approach to my project. I thought about how there are so many new places popping up in San Marcos, and it would be cool to highlight some of them. I realized as I talked to places, you really could string them together to make a fun day visiting them.
I wanted to focus specifically on places that you could go to and have a good time, whether that’s for a treat, food, bowling or a bar. Hopefully this project will give fun ideas to people for a unique day in San Marcos.
About Me
I’m a mass comm graduate student concentrating on digital media at Texas State University. I also currently hold a B.S. and B.A. from Texas State in English and journalism. I was born in Austin, Texas, where I currently live.
I work on campus as staff in the Learning Applications Solutions department that oversees services such as TRACS, TechSmith Relay and Adobe Connect. I’m also a part-time reporter at the Seguin Gazette, a local newspaper in Seguin, Texas.
